Tyler’s first professional work in animation was with Rabbit Hole Productions as an Animation Assistant, tasked with inbetweening and coloring while maintaining a sketchy feel and finish for these surreal animated segments of the pitched film.

The character "Ty" was the central protagonist of Tyler's short film, "Just a Thought." With Ty being an imaginary friend, and fading, it was decided to make him an animated character. The body, head, and features were all drawn by Tyler in Clip Studio Paint and Adobe Photoshop, then animated in a combination of keyframe animation in Adobe After Effects, Adobe Character Creator, and frame-by-frame animation in Clip Studio Paint.

A challenge that presented itself with grounding an animated character in the real world was making sure he stayed in the same position relative to the background and other characters when on screen— something made even more challenging by the camera being handheld rather than using a tripod.

Looped animations Tyler was commissioned to make as emoji’s for a Twitch streamer, as well gifts for friends.

A very early animation done by Tyler in his first year at Penn State University after he wanted a logo to go at the start of his films.
